Comparisonator powered another panel at the Deal Done Serbia Football Conference, moderated by CEO Tarkan Batgun, where the former owner of Fortuna Sittard and the Chief Scout of Neftci Bakรผ shared their experiences with the audience.
At the Deal Done Serbia conference, industry leaders gathered on stage to insights and real-world experiences from within modern football scouting, recruitment, and club strategy.
The panel opened with Iลฤฑtan Gรผn, former chairman of Fortuna Sittard, who set the tone by addressing โFootball investment & club strategy in the winter window.โ Gรผn walked the audience through the strategic implications of mid-season transfers, highlighting how financial planning, squad balance, and timing intersect during one of footballโs most challenging trading periods.
Following this, Jahid Asgarov, Chief Scout of Neftci Bakรผ, shifted the focus to the regional scouting landscape.
In his session titled โData & scouting in the regional markets,โ Asgarov illustrated how clubs are adapting to competitive pressures by combining traditional observation with analytics. He emphasized that understanding local cultures, competition levels, and player profiles was just as important as interpreting statistical outputs, reinforcing that โeffective scouting is both art and science.โ
The final keynote of the episode came from K. Tarkan Batgun, CEO of the Comparisonator platform, who explored the cutting edge of talent identification.
In his talk, โFuture of football scouting with artificial intelligence perspective,โ Batgun outlined how AI-driven tools were reshaping scouting workflows and decision-making processes. He explained that while technology cannot replace human expertise, it โelevates strategic thinking by revealing patterns that would otherwise remain hidden.โ
Batgunโs vision pointed toward a future where data fluency and technological integration become core competencies for competitive clubs.
